Day 22 - February 20, 2009

Tonight I dropped some laundry off for Spud and Steph. Steph came home today and is feeling much better. I then went to Doug's. He and I went out to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. I told him I would take him to dinner since he did my taxes. Sarah came with us, too :) Because the wait was so long we shopped at the mall for awhile and Doug ran into someone he knew. We ended up waiting for 1 hour 45 min before they seated us... ugh! Our dinners were tasty and we enjoyed each others company. After we finished dinner we ordered cheesecake. This is what we got: Sarah - Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake, Doug got a special for their 30th anniversary - Anniversary Cheesecake which included layers of chocoate cake, brownie and cheesecake. I got Banana Cream Cheesecake. Yum! :)

Day 21 - February 19, 2009

I had a very difficult time going to work today, as I felt I was needed at the hospital to help with my kids and grandson. I made it through it and then directly went to the hospital. Mike was there and visited for a while. I stayed there throughout the evening to help while Spencer went to his class. Steph's mom and sister came as well and we watched a movie - Baby Mama. Garret was a sweetheart and for the most part is doing great at the hospital and daddy is taking good care of him. Steph is getting better slowly.

Day 20 - February 18, 2009

Today was a sad day. Last night after I got home from helping with Garret, Spencer called a short while later and said Steph had a fever and it kept rising. He asked if I could come help. When I got there they had phoned the Dr and he said to get into emergency. I went with them to help with Garret. Steph ended up having an infection and I was there until 4:00 am. At that time, they admitted her to the hospital so she could get better. They said she would be there a few days. I felt so bad for her, she was in so much pain and her fever kept getting worse, even in the ER. She kept good spirits, though, as did Spener. Spencer had a great attitude and just stayed by her side and loved her. Garret was really good there and stayed asleep in my lap most the time. I got home at 4:30 am and emailed my boss that I wouldn't be able to come in to work. I slept for a while then got up and picked up things at my kids home for them in the hospital. Then went to a Dr appt for a physical, then went back and spent remainder of the day in the hospital.

Day 19 - February 17, 2009

After work I took dinner to Spud and Steph and then helped Steph with Garret while Spencer attended his class. Just before he left for his class, Garret slept in his arms. It was so sweet as it looked like he was holding his binky.

Day 18 - February 16, 2009

Today is Presidents Day so I had the day off work. I spent the day at Spud and Steph's to help with baby Garret. I got some laundry done and kitchen, etc. And got to hold Garret a lot :) I played with Kia as well.

Day 17 - February 15, 2009

Today I got my computer organized. I have a new storage thing that holds all gifts bags, bows, wrapping paper, etc. I also got this all organized. It was a good feeling.

Day 16 - February 14, 2009

Today is Valentine's Day. I spent most the day at Steph and Spence's holding baby Garret :) They had many visitors - Cheney, JJ, Sarah, Ben, Doug (Grandpa). That night Scott gave me a Valentine which was a Bear he assembled into a Grandma and baby :) Also, a bag a green M&M's. We went to dinner and watched Nights in Roadanthe

Day 15 - February 13, 2009

Today we had a Valentines Party at work and gave Valentines to each other. That evening I went to the Draper Temple Open House with Sarah, Mike, Ben, Doug, and Scott. After, Sarah, Ben, Scott and myself went to the Castle of Chaos for Friday the 13th.

Day 14 - February 12, 2009

My cute little army guy :) I was able to come spend time with Garret again, which made me happy. This time I visited him at home. He is the cutest grandbaby in all the world :)

Day 13 - February 11, 2009

Because of how late Garret was born and all that had to be done for him, I was unable to hold him the night he was born. I was anxious all day at work and finally I was able to go to the hospital and hold baby Garret. It was the sweetest experience I could imagine. He is so precious and such a good baby. I was able to be there for five hours and hold him many times.

Day 12 - February 10, 2009

Today is the sweetest day ever. My grandson was born. What a beautiful day. Little Garret was born 10:13 pm. 7 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches long. Sarah is actually the one who took this picture. It's the best we have, I'm grateful she got this shot. This was approx an hour after he was born. He is so precious.

Day 11 - February 9, 2009

I went to Scott's today and he made us dinner and we watched 24

Day 10 - February 8th

Today I had a very long chat with a Jamey - a past friend that I have reconnected with on Facebook. I enjoyed the chat so much and it was a highlight to my day.

Day 9 - February 7th

Today wasn't a good day for me. I didn't want to take a picture, but my dear friend reminded me how important it was and he gave me words of wisdom. He said "life is full of good and bad and we have to roll along with it and take the bad with the good". And that when this project is complete, I will probably laugh or smile at the bad, or at least be reminded of how wonderful the good times are, because of experiencing the bad. Here is what happened: I invited a friend over for dinner and a movie. He asked if I would make brownies as he was craving them. Last time he wanted them, I didn't get them made and so I made them and was pleased and organized a fun dinner. I sent a text letting him know I made him brownies. I sent another text letting him know we would need to end at 11 due to my recent health issue, so I could get to bed at a decent hour. He sent the following: "What? Why is there always a catch when we do something?". I was hurt because I need to take care of myself to completely heal and was hoping he would understand. So, I sent the following back: "11:00 isn't a catch, it is very reasonable. I'm taking care of myself since I've had so many health issues lately. If you can't appreciate that, perhaps we should cancel?" I thought he would let me know that he wanted to spend time with me and even though he had to leave earlier than he wanted, at least he got to spend some time with me and that he understood and cared about my health. Instead, he replied with: "Yeah, I don't like the deadline thingy... so perhaps we can reschedule". Of course I cried a little. But I just said "ok". Then I immediately went to the brownies and took a huge spoonfull and bit it down in hurt and anger. And in my mind I thought "it's his loss". The day became a ripple effect and everything went crazy from then on and nothing went right. As usual, my best friend came to my rescue. In the late evening, we went and got a bite to eat at "Noodles" and came back and ate brownies galore!!! :) This friend is a keeper!!!! The other one... not so much. --“Life is full of ups and downs. The trick is to enjoy the ups and have courage during the downs.”

Day 8 - February 6th

The sweetest thing happened. The door bell rang. When I answered it these cute little kids asked if I wanted to purchase a picture they drew for 25 cents. I asked if I could buy more than one and their eyes lit up. It was a precious moment for me and my eyes became a little moist.

Day 7 - February 5th

Today at work there was all this commotion at the window. I went and looked out and saw sexy firemen training. This was taken from the window of the 4th floor.

Day 6 - February 4th

Today was another girl's birthday at work. The miss-talented made another cake, or rather - cupcakes. How cute are these horses?!!

Day 5 - February 3rd

There was a beautiful looking sunrise/stormy sky at work. There is a window glare as I took this through the window on the 4th floor, but it was spectacular to look at.

Day 4 - February 2nd

Today is Groundhog day, however I don't have a cute groundhog. But I do have a cute Mike :) Mike came for a visit and we played games and visited.

Day 3 - February 1st

Kia came over for a visit. She is such a funny and cute dog. When someone uses my lotion in the bathroom -- Eucalyptus/Spearmint -- she goes bonkers and loves the smell and has to lick your hand, etc. Kia is a good dog and a nice visitor!

Day 2 - January 31st

I popped in to see Scott at work. He was demoing at Costco for his last time. This was the weekend of the Superbowl, so you'll notice they have football hats on. It was fun to watch him demo and very tasty, too :)

Day 1 - January 30th

A girl at work made this birthday cake for another girl at work. The first thing I thought of was, Sarah because she is my cup-cake girl. Her nick-name is "cuppy-cake".
